-Unless Detroit gets a new industry, I think it’s slowly going to revert back into a rural area.

-If I became famous and starred in a commercial like this, I might feel weird… especially when it’s the same town where, when I was just another poor person, no one gave me a second thought.

Overall I feel iffy about this. Especially the choir at the end, that’s creepy and obviously trying too hard.  It’s nice to have pride in your city but I dunno, I guess I just don’t like this commercial completely.

Still think a music career is an easy path to a blinged-out life? Don’t believe the hype. A whole lot of folks have to get paid before the musician does. The Root traces the money trail.
